HISTORY
DURING THE FRENCH REVOLUTION THE CHATEAU D’AUBAIS, THE RESIDENCE OF THE SEIGNIORIAL FAMILY RULING THE REGION, THE URRE FAMILY, IS PARTLY DESTROYED. IN 1792, THE URRE FAMILY DECIDES TO RESTORE THE CHATEAU DE CHRISTIN.
THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE CHATEAU IS VENETIAN STYLE. ITS RENOVATION WAS CARRIED OUT WITH EXTREME CARE AND ATTENTION TO DETAILS BY SKILLED CRAFTSMEN AND ARTISTS (WOOD PANELLING, FLOOR-TILES, CABINETMAKING, PAINTINGS IN TROMPE L’OEIL…), ADDING NEW LUSTER TO THIS SPLENDID FAMILY MANSION.
CHATEAU DE CHRISTIN, NOW A LISTED BUILDING WAS BUILT ORIGINALLY ON THE SITE OF A MANOR-HOUSE, THE REMAINS OF WHICH YOU CAN STILL SEE: THE LOUIS XIV BALUSTERS AND THE LOUIS XVIII ROMANTIC STYLE.
YOU WILL BE CHARMED BY ITS REFINED DECORATION, ITS TIMELESS ELEGANCE FROM A BYGONE ERA.
CHATEAU DE CHRISTIN WILL PAMPER YOU IN OLD WORLD STYLE WHILE YOU EXPERIENCE UNFORGETTABLE NEW MEMORIES.
